IncentiBook: Hosting and Posting

Before we begin, I must confess that I am quite proud of that title…

Moving on.

This week I have spend the majority of my time trying to work out how to move my domain from Weebly to Name Cheap as I want to develop using Digital Ocean servers. It could have been my incompetence, or Weebly’s opaqueness, but I found the process of transferring the domain quite painful.

Either way, it’s done now and will be with Name Cheap by Saturday. Phew.

While the last few months have been working on the booking logic and getting my head around mySQL, I have spent some time considering how the landing page and blog should look. It seems wise to get these pages live as soon as possible, so I have spent very little time finding free templates and effectively filling them in. As the tool moves closer to completion, I will spend some cash and get someone to work with the UX/UI. Until then, this will have to do.

IncentoBook.com page for driving instructors

Having read ‘Traction’ I have a few ideas about how to spread the word. The content strategy thus far is based around positing articles that are relevant/interesting/informative to the target audience i.e. driving instructors, and interviewing some of the more interesting characters in the industry.

So far I’ve emailed approximately 60 people and managed to get two responses…both no’s. Historically, I’ve been quite poor at taking rejection so there is definitely some skin toughening that needs to happen over the coming weeks and months.

I will persist with this strategy for now as I believe that it has the potential for ‘shareable’ posts. But who knows? This is merely my hypothesis to be tested.

Activities

  • Write ‘How IncentiBook Can Help Your Industry’ posts for relevant industries.
  • Persist cold emailing people for interviews.
  • Begin including Google Maps API in development.
