IncentiBook: VAs and Coding

To say that I am enjoying the process of coding IncentiBook is something of an understatement. It has been such pleasure to get stuck into such a complex problem. Some days I finish and think ‘I have literally no idea how to do this next bit’. And that’s the joy — creating something completely new that no one has ever built before, but also using knowledge that already exists online and can be searched for.

So far, I have taught myself the basics of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, mySQL and php. I have always heard it said that once you learn one language, you can learn them all, and to some extent I agree. So far, database programming has proved the most difficult. It just seems to exist in a world of its own, but I’m getting there.

Progress This Week:

The basics of IncentiBook are coming together. I’ve got to the stage of adjusting time-slots based on distances of customers from one another.

IncentiBook now has a Twitter account as well. The plan was to hire a VA to spend some time each day adding relevant accounts such as driving instructors, massage therapists and personal trainers that work from peoples’ homes. The VA I had lined up had fallen through, so will need to find someone suitable.

Although there is no cash to spare in this project, the benefit that a VA will provide will be significant to the extent that I can just focus on coding a marketing.

Other than that, progress has been limited. I am trying to spend time with my partner during Christmas, as this is one of the times I actually get away from work.

Hope you have an amazing Christmas, Covid be damned!
